Sooo. My computer isn't really typing so gonna try and keep this brief.

Arggg. I am creeping out, I have been severely paranoid / jumpy / scared for the last 3 days. Can't sleep, watch tv, leave my house. Every noise, creak, etc creeps me out. I am being so easily frighten-able. And I keep having this feeling that someone is behind me, trying to get in throughout the window, staring at me from outside windows, and I am going insane.

So I guess I am asking. Can this be stress related? Something I ate? This is severely messing with me I need it to go away. I am afraid to leave my bed, house, anything. And its really extreme, nothing I have ever experienced before. I feel like its a really bad trip. (drug free.)

Maybe its an OCD on steroids thing? It needs to go away.

Sorry to hear this :(

It sounds like classic anxiety - probably more neurochemical-driven than anything else. I would definitely see a doctor about it soon if it doesn't get any better.

In the meantime, realize that it is just temporary and realize that it's probably not a reaction to anything external going on in your life.

Yes, stress-related. I take anxiety medicine for it. I know it's not fun.

They can be difficult to get, because they're considered addictive (I've never had an addictive response with mine). You may not be able to get them from your GP, but if you see a psych doctor, make sure to be extremely clear about how upsetting your symptoms are. Nobody should have to spend a minute living in the state you described, when there's an easily accessible solution.

I would also highly recommend telling your doc/psych about any other mental issues you may have. Most all the medications that are used to threat anxiety have other primary uses like antidepressants or tranquilizers. I would suggest researching Buspar before seeing a doc/psych if your only real big issue is anxiety. Buspar is the only medication specifically used for anxiety; Generalized Anxiety is it's only FDA approved use but it's sometimes used for other anxiety disorders. I started taking Buspar a couple months ago & it is a big help to me. I had been on a couple meds in most every class of medications that treat anxiety(I was on psych meds a few years ago for lots of different issues) & none of the others have ever helped my anxiety unless they made me too tired or too zoned out to feel anxious

If I'm not being too personal, is it time for your period or are you ovulating? I know I used to get anxiety worse around those two times. I kept a record of it and at my therapists suggestion I looked at my cycle in relation to it. Hormones can do that to you.

I tried almost everything out there for anxiety, including self medication before I went to a doctor. What helped me were Xanax. I had the one mg ones, and I took a half or so. They also come in the .25 dose, and you can even break those in half. I only felt anything from them for a day or two. I had used drugs before when I was younger, but my anxiety was so bad at the time as to make me worry about side effects.

They worked amazingly quickly, and if you get the smallest ones you can break them in half and take an even smaller dose.
