I have been experiencing meltdowns so frequently nowadays.

NT: You are so stupid! OR You are such a b***h!
NT then gave one example after another to elaborate how stupid/bitchy I was.
I had a meltdown.
NT: I was just stating facts about you! OR Oh my gosh! I'm just trying reverse psychology out on you! Aren't you supposed to prove to me that you aren't that stupid!

I suspect that often NTs that don't understand us project their own feeling of "not getting it" back on to us by saying hurtful things like "are you seriously that dumb?!"

This has been my experience anyway.

I try not to freak out in public, it feels embarssing when all the attention is on you for a bad reason.
