On Xbox Live. Friends starting mocking my voice and the way I talked. They were beginning to treat me like I was an idiot. So I figured I'd rather play by myself than be subjected to that.

No matter how long it goes, these situations always turn out the same way; people are nice to me for a bit after we first meet, but after being around for a while and seeing how I talk, act, and behave, people start to treat me differently.

I get mocked, bullied, used, made fun of, disrespected, and talked down to. It continues until I sever ties the person/group all together. It's a vicious cycle and it's been that way for the past 25 years.

I"m sick and tired of things playing out this way, I'll never be accepted/treated fairly by these jerks in the world. They see/hear someone that's different and they can't help but point and laugh.

That's why I've always loved my video games. They are very important to me and have been my only real friends since early teens. They don't mock/make fun of me and don't have to worry about them taking advantage of and using me.

They've always been interesting and there for me whenever I was in a bad place. I don't need people, and I think I'd be content for the rest of my life if I just had a steady supply of video games to keep me company.

I think a lot of it depends on the game. And having no one know who you are makes it so people feel okay with saying anything.

When explaining I would sort of stutter a loot, for games like halo wars mainly, but they were okay with it because I knew what I was doing. I would be fine with playing with you, but wont have my xbox for a while

Guess you didn't lose much since the Xbox360 is the worst of the three current game consoles anyway.

Alot of people have no clue how it hurts to be hated for the sound of one's voice. You are not the only one this happens to either. :(

I call this the Aspie "friendship" cycle.

First few meetings is "Hi and Hello".

After a few more they are still friendly but they are slowly suspecting that there's something not exactly right about you.

Months later and they start talking behind your back.: What's wrong with that guy/girl?

Now depending on how civil the group is you wont be given the same respect you were given initially. As time goes by you become the group outcast. You decide it's time to leave and the cycle starts again.

People like that get on my nerves. I usually steer away form those people. Also, just because you had a bad experience with certain people doesn't mean you can't with others. I don't have an Xbox Live account but I'm sure other people would add and play with you, I certainly would.

This is what I did when I had an Xbox 360, I would only add people I knew in real life and knew really well.

Some of my mannerisms just seem to make people hate me or at the very least become irritated enough to show it. I haven't had any friends who were girls in a long time so this only occurs now with boyfriends. Yes I have gotten used so badly. The thing is, I have enough self esteem now to realize what I deserve. And that's someone who treats me as kindly as I do them. I don't really have a malicious bone in my body, I do have road rage but that's an nt thing too. One guy I was quasi ddating for awhile started making racist comments about black girls at the mall where we were......among other things....like how he wouldn't date me if I did this or that and later I found out he was purposely trying to hurt and anger ne and when I asked why he said he didn't know. I am Asian and I had another ex that would tell me racist jokes about Asian people. Granted, these people may not have had aspergers but they weren't normal either. Its messed up to do stuff like this. I just don't understand what itl is about me that elicits these behaviors. I appear normal from the outset at least. Aspie effect I guess.

I've also been hated for the sound of my voice, by my own parents at the age of 12.

I've noticed that games revolving around shooting skills etc, seem to have a large amount of jerks, i had a friend who played on it Call of duty online on the PS3? i think that was it, and he's quite the normal guy and he can stand a lot but even he turned the voicechat off because people are just downright mean on games like that, i tend to stay clear from games like that :o However over the years i have met people online, mostly on mmo's and one anime and now also here, who do accept others if they are different, but most of those people that i know have had their share of pains with ''friends'' in the past,

so what i'm saying is, don't give up because there aren't only jerks out there :o This forum is the living proof! But ofcourse its your free choice if you want to have people around you or not, i actually get quite angry with jerks so they don't bother me after that xD

Sorry for the rambling :o
