My mind is rich, very very rich

Its funny huh? You can get a happy guy in prison with nothing at all in his life

Then you can have a wealthy man with a beautiful wife (or even 10 wives) and he's a miserable person. Go figure

Go join your band of baboons, see where that gets you.....

Your mind may be an empty lot, but I always have stuff going on inside. I too, would have liked to be normal, but at over 50 years of living with this disorder, I have long since faced the fact that normal ain't gonna happen to me. Life handed me lemons, so I made lemon aid. It happens to be extremely tart, so drink at your own risk. I had nothing in my life to sweeten it with, so it really is sugar free. I use coping methods to deal with my chronic depression, and they usually help. Unfortunately, today happens to be one of my bad D days because some of the other posts here brought back some bad memories.  I can always find things to think about and things to do, so the bad D day will pass.

I have a lot of exciting things going on in my autistic mind. I'm also happy with who I am, and I don't feel the need to be normal. I celebrate my autism and maybe, one day you will be able to as well. Autism Speaks does not speak for me. :)

I couldn't say it better myself.

If I had one wish what will definately come true, I would wish to be NT. That way I could accomplish some of my other wishes, like going out clubbing without socialising being an obstacle.

My AS mind is far from empty.
My depressed mind was empty, however.

This do you really believe being yourself will land you/be able to keep that job?

I wonder if that 80% figure is correct

Not having anything in my head was one of the worst things about depression for me. My un-depressed mind buzzes with stuff.

I think that you are imagining these things. I have never seen any evidence of the existence of these cliched situations outside of fiction.

Early death bed, not giving a &^&* about anything keeps us young I wonder if we live longer

If you want to work 80+ hr weeks for that McMansion and all the trappings that go with it go right ahead I wont have a bar of it :)
