This drives me nuts.

There is a stereotype that being outgoing and friendly means the person is sane.

Another stereotype is t people that are quiet are crazy.

The irony is, a lot of NTs are crazy. Somehow, being outgoing and friendly covers that up.

People with AS are quiet but they are the sanest people you will meet.

It is the quiet NTs that people need to be afraid of.

Why's that? In my opinion its the ones who go out of their way to harass people such as the 'quiet ones' or anyone else they find fault with, that you gotta watch out for.

Notice these people have their own issues.

Notice these people are mentally ill and not very bright.

I think its more likely mentally ill people are harassed by these people actually. At least in my experience that proves to be the case.

The tendency is that most people who do irrational acts like the Dark Knight theater massacre are described as quiet loners by the people who know them or know of them. Of course, it is a minuscule percentage of these quiet loners who go off and open fire on a crowd of people. It's just not very newsworthy to say "This just in, a whole sh*tload of quiet loners DIDN'T shoot a bunch of innocent people today with guns they ordered by mail! Film at 11:00!"

It's well established that the mentally ill are much less likely to be involved in murder than people who seem relatively normal and kill because it serves their purposes and because they have no regard for human life.

^^^ Part and parcel of the "socialites" not understanding or trusting anyone not as social as they are... calling them "loners", etc.

It perpetuates their NEED to be mega-social, otherwise be ostracised as a potential rooftop sniper.

If mister life-of-the-party, beloved social alpha does something terrible, it's often glossed over or blamed on someone else's "fault".

It's an old adage, mostly based on the premise that people who truly want to do something won't advertise it.

IE, the guy who runs his mouth about wanting to kill himself and tells his friends; or the guy who never says a word, gets in his car and jumps off a bridge.

No, the ones who are truly dangerous are those who always have a fake smile on their face. Who knows what evil lurks there that they must hide?

Plain and simple answer to the question

Most people with Aspergers think normal people are creeps.

Most normal people think Aspergers are creeps.
