someone recently told me they think that autism/apergers is caused by polutents in the atmosphere, water and food, this person has apergers as well. he also said he thinks someday we (as in aspies) could be the the FUTURE of humanity. he thinks he got autism becuase of the mercury in the vaccines they gave him as an infant. I'm guessing he's right, if what he says is true, then maybe neurotypicals will become the "outcast" of humanity, someday. but, probally not in my life time.

I think he was just trying to make me feel better... becuase I've been extremely stressed out latley.

but... what do you think? is what he says true? could we really be the future of humanity? I'd like to think thats the case.
what about how is autisim cuased? he also called it a mutation.... I don't know if I like that term.... but he also compared us to the X-Men.

what do you think about all this? what should I think or do or say?

As Autism in all it's flavors is caused by genetic factors, I tend to think the premise of it being caused by environmental pollution is incorrect. As bad as we are told that the world is polluted now, it actually used to be FAR worse, especially in the US and the UK. We had rivers that were so polluted that they could not longer support life and would actually catch on fire. Cities were so polluted with soot that everything was turned a shade of gray or black from all of the particulates that would accumulate on things. If autism was going to take over the world because of environmental pollution, that would have been when it would have happened. Trust me when I say that you have no idea just how bad the Western nations used to be in terms of their total lack of environmental policy.

You also have to look at the sexual side of things too. People on the spectrum generally suck at the social thing and as such have limited opportunities to meet someone with whom to mate and conceive a child. Thus, the likelihood that we will become the sexually dominant genes and take over from the neurotypicals is laughable. Even if it were to happen, it would not impact you in your lifetime as those who are in your generation have long since been born.

I am sorry you are not doing well right now and hope things get better soon. As I don't know the actual problem though, I am at a loss as to what else to say.

When it becomes 'the norm" it won't be called aspergers or atleast won't be seen as a developmental handicap/problem/etc.
A lot of NT traits/commonalities are not needed and will especially not be needed when society becomes more peaceful and monotone...
Suposidly there will be two branches of people that evolve from the current; the taller smart highly intelligent and the shorter less smart and not so intelligent people.... I have always thought of the tall, highly intelligent, etc. being the outcome but I guess there "has" to be two according to the "laws" or patterns of evolution... ( I just learned about that very recently) I did see a chart and blog or paper on it online a couple of years ago someone had the same "theory" that I have but they also illustrated a shorter, dumber group(that's where I got that from) Too bad thry all won't be bright and "attractive".

So yes there will be an entire "people" that reflect aspies in the future.

I think Aspergers has always been around, just before no one really paid any attention to it. Psychology is still a young science.

Human evolution breeds what they want it to, such as obedient slaves.
