I have just bought toys from Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. I am selling them on. My mum just said today about their safety. She said if somethings goes wrong especially they can come after me because I sold item that isnt safe under EU law. I said the taiwan, china and japan all have their own safety standards that are about the same as EU. Do any of you know?

Incomplete info.... are these known lead-paint toys from China? If not, what makes them so dangerous??

Besides, whether you sell or give them away, it's the toy manufacturer who's responsible should someone be harmed by their product - not you (unless you altered it in some way.)

No. These are transformer toys made out of plastic. She said they could be forgeries and they could done very well to look like the real thing. They are boxed and have barcodes. One or two of them don't work on amazon I use that to do a search for them. Worked for the others. No I have not altered them in anyway. They have never been taken out of the box. So is it safe for me to keep importing?

BlueMax, Do you know that? Doesn't the retailer have a legal responsibility?

What country are you in? Do a quick google search for UK Gov advice and you find information to say that if you are importing toys, you (the retailer) are responsible for their safety.

Look for official advice. You need to research the right information for your situation.

It also depends if you're a retailer selling them to others, or just some guy in your house selling them to a kid down the street.

Like I said, incomplete info. I thought he was just a guy with a box of toys being a little paranoid. ;)
