For me, I visit my parents and siblings (two sisters) once a year every Christmas.

I don't really visit my other relatives, because a lot of them are rude so I will only visit the ones who are not rude which is once every 1-2 years.

I regularly talk to my parents and siblings as well as a few relatives that I actually like but I have one problem, I have one sister who really doesn't enjoy talking to me which really drains me emotionally. I want a better relationship with her but she shuts me out completely, so the only time I usually get to talk to her is at Christmas, and even then she can be grouchy to me and will never do anything with me at all and will only stay a day or two while everyone else stays for at least a week. I've asked her before if I can come up and visit her and she just ignores me.

I don't keep in touch with my family at all - not my extended family for SURE. I have never been close to them, so it was no great loss. However, I also don't keep in touch with my mother - she thinks I've been possessed by the devil because I think she was abusive, and I made attempts to get along with her in the past, but last year I gave up for good and life has been better since then. I occasionally chat to my little sister - once a week or less usually.

I think you should be glad that you at least have some contact with your family - your sister might have issues of her own that she is not dealing with very well. Once she starts to work on her own issues, your relationship will improve as well - or at least I hope so, because you seem to want to be close to her, which is a good thing!

Hmmmm, well I am still unfortunately living at home (while I go to uni), so I have to see these people. But I wouldn't class them, or anyone in the world as a relative, as I am abused everyday. To me I have to relatives, or loved ones. So therefore, I would say I never say any relatives XD

Usually I see my parents once a week. We live less than 5 miles from each other and my mom cooks me dinner on my day off. At this point, it is part of my routine that I rarely miss. Some weeks I see them more than once and some weeks I miss dinner due to needing to repair my car (like this week). When needed, we help each other with projects and such like most normal families do. Oddly, my aunt and cousin live in my subdivision. However, I rarely see them because I can't stand their dysfunctional lifestyle. My cousin is an alcoholic and my aunt and him are co-dependent. She lives in a fantasy world of her own making and can turn on a dime if she thinks there is the off chance that you have said anything against her or him. Sorry but I don't need that much crazy in my life.
