Had a long day Monday. Yesterday (Tuesday) I had a big-time recovery day in which I got nearly nothing done even though I got slept very well Monday night into Tuesday morning (and didn't oversleep that night, either).

Same here, it is so annoying! I always have an endless list of stuff I need to do, but I need time outs from Life so much, it really gets in the way!

I want to work on strategies to hopefully reduce how much Life can get to me while I am out. For example, when I go to my Son's taekwondo, it is usually soooo noisy there, and I am trying to study to make use of my time. The noise makes me so irritable and I can NOT concentrate. This week, however, I finally remembered to bring my ipod to listen to while studying, and it worked a miracle on me!! ! I couldn't hear all the annoying noise and I typed out 1000 words on my essay in just 40mins, I was so happy :)

I hear you! I usually have 1-3 days every week when I don't get anything done at all, lock myself up in my apartment, curtains down, no TV or music, and just drone around. I always tell myself that I'll get a lot done, and I plan for it, but it NEVER works.

So THAT'S what happens! I always thought there was something wrong with me. I seriously had never heard of Aspie exhaustion until just now. I feel so much better. 8O

I have that too. I went abroad with my mum tuesday to thursday and tried to go to the gym on friday. Failed misearbly. About halfway into my program I lost contact with my body and had to stop (because of my poor body control, it's dangerous for me to work out when my body is "away". The best way to deal with aspie exhaustion is to have a "day off" after a really hard day

i wish i had some powerful lithiums in me instead of the lead/acid antiquities that leave me recharging my batteries most of the day. my batteries are losing their ability to hold a charge the older they get.

This is one of the things I hate the most about my condition. I work 8 hours a day, sharing an office with two other people. Most of the day I can shut myself in with music, staring at my screen doing some programming. But there still is the dreadfull lunch ( which I kinda feel obliged to go to ) and some meetings every now and then. By the end of the day I am dead tired. I barely have the energy for making myself dinner, never have the energy to do the dishes.

It always makes me wonder how it's like to not have these problems. How it's like to be able to work a full day, then go home and actually get something done, or socialize. I remember there was a football, or soccer as you Americans know it as tournament. It was after work. I said to people that I didn't have the energy to go. None seemed to understand. The weekends I use to restore some of my energy. I always plan to get something done, but I never do. I do plan on finding a 60% or 80% position, so that I can have wedensdays off. But we'll see..

I also have neurofibromatosis which has this as a symptom.

Wow! I feel exactly the same way! I sometimes have to take a vacation day from work on Wednesdays just to recharge and make it to the weekend. When my coworkers ask what exciting plans I have for my vacation or for the weekend, and I tell them I plan to relax and take a nap, they don't seem to understand.

My list of items to do after work is nearly impossible to get done. I've contemplated working part time rather than full time just to get by.

I hate that others are experiencing the same thing as me, but I am glad I am not alone.

I am constanly experiencing Aspie Exhaustion. The only time I get to unwind is after my kids are in bed at night. Most of the time, I head online and then I have a bazillion people see i am on facebook and then want to communicate. I use all my energy on that and realise that I then have no energy to cope the next day and things get worse. I have to have constant interactions during the day as I have a very full on chatty 3 yr old who is always talking and my son is autistic and needs hard pressure touch. Add in study and interacting with people at school drop offs and pick ups and I am always exhausted. I have decided to retreat and hide away from real life social interactions for a while and limit it to the minimum. I have also deleted facebook and most contacts except 2 on messenger as well as everyones telephone numbers in my phone. I crashed this week and went into suicidal mania from over socialising and fatigue.

I am hoping just getting back into just gaming and web forums, I will feel less exhausted and can use my evenings to just recharge.
