over stressed from situations in life
I normally cope quite easily with my aspergers but the past few weeks have been filled with change and being forced out of my special interest which is making my ocd go overboard.
My special interest is collecting comic books but do to some basic financial costs I have been unable to continue this special interest. My days used to be based around what I would do in regards to my collection. Mondays were for making my pull list. Tuesday making sure the store had my books available. Wednesday I would pick up my books. Thursday were for reading. Friday was for reviewing books. Saturday I would work at a comic book shop. Sunday I would usually read older books.
I have a good life but I really loved this aspect of my life but do to business I can't get to the shop I worked at and that was what paid for my books. I am hoping some new special interest will take over because right now I am struggling.
I feel so bad for my wife as she really is trying to help me and wants me just to find a new hobby and is trying to help with that. On top of everything else I have been extremely tired and been feeling very sick lately. Headaches and vomitting. I think this is largely due to the extreme heat we have been having. Today it reached 117 out. I can't drive due to epilepsy so I have to walk to most places except for when my wife is working or when she drops me off at work.
I think this is more of a rant but I just am trying to get through this rough period of time.
I can't help with all of your problems, but there are ways to beat the heat. If you don't have working air conditioning at home, you can take cold showers during the heat of the day. Also, hug an ice pack, dress lightly, and eat frozen fruit treats. I freeze fruit sauces, and eat those. They are healthy, and like eating a sorbet. A big help is industrial fans. They use less electricity than the AC. Don't bother with the non industrial fans. They are too wimpy to do the job, but the industrial ones are great! I have 3, yes 3 industrial fans. I have one down by the back bedroom and bathroom. I drag it into the bathroom when I have to use the toilet. I have IBS, so I am usually stuck there a while several times a day, so the fan is a big help. I keep one of the fans in here (my home office and all purpose room). It keeps me cool while I surf the net. I have the third one in the living room, aimed partly at the kitchen and old fridge, and partly at my recliner. These industrial fans do a great job of keeping me cool! Between those, the cold snacks, the ice packs, dressing lightly--nightshirts--and cold showers, I manage fine. However, my temps rarely get into the 3 digit range. If all of those tips together aren't enough, then you could try hanging out at a local mall during the worst part of the day, or go swimming. You can also get one of the bigger kiddie/family pools and use that to beat the heat.
So use these tips, and chill.
Fortunately I have air conditioning. I think you almost have to living in Arizona. Last night we bought several bags of ice and through them into our pool as the pool had gotten too hot to even swim in. It is during the walks taking my kids to school that I am struggling with the heat. Today we made 117 degrees which is just miserable.
