I'd like to apologize for the meltdown that I had this morning. I know that most of you don't believe in apologies, but my parents raised me the British way. It was all about manners in my childhood home. That's why I'd like to say that I'm sorry. we're all different and we have different opinions about different things. It's just that I got an Olympic surprise upon my returning. If some of you don't like the Olympics or other sports, I don't have a problem with that. I'll be sure to read every thread before jumping to conclusions in the future.

I have much more on my plate than just the Olympics being over. Two of my favourite local stores are closing down and I'm going to get laid off after my last shift on my birthday. The landscaping company that I'm working for is closing down.

Now for the next number:

You're not an idiot. You're quite right that manners are important and your parent's clearly did a good job (sadly a lot of British people aren't brought up with manners any more). I don't think you have a lot to apologise for really, it's really easy to misunderstand internet conversations.

I'm sorry about your job, and the stores you like closing. I would find that very difficult too. Considering the circumstances, I think you are doing very well.

As 'Jim Goose' said, "I don't know, man, I just got here myself". As I was reading the other thread I had to conclude that everyone has their off days, and you were just overdue for one.
Whenever stores close down I wonder about what's going to happen to the people who worked there and then I start to feel guilty that I should have frequented them more. Awfully sorry about the news; the good thing was that you didn't have to clock in to find out that was your last day. A little more time in the day for your interests, for a while. Prayers and positive wishes, your presence on the boards is part of what I look forward to when I click on

No, but there's hard-drinking people here.

Another... three pints please.

I think you have all the reason for a meltdown, I hope you feel better. I was raised to apologize a lot too and I'm not even British :P ! I think you're great CockneyRebel, no problems with you at all!
