...or she may be being melodramatic as usual. Her Facebook update said her loser commonlaw (that she made her entire universe around) just broke up with her. She claims to have swallowed some pills and is eagerly awaiting death (another post mentioned Tylenol, so unlikely lethal...) but I've called her local 9-1-1 to get someone over there to check on her.

If this turns out to be a false alarm because of her !#$^~ over-dramatic BS, I'm going to be very.... very mad.

Either way you did the right thing. Tylenol takes a large dose to be lethal, but it can be lethal. Luckily it is not as fast-acting as street or some prescription drugs.

Hopefully the cops will get her some help that she sounds like she needs anyway. Good luck!

...minor update - apparently the police arrived and paramedics were NOT required. My mom called a moment ago and the last words before being hung up on were, "You tell my brother I hate him for calling the police and I never want to speak to him again!!"

....mmmyeah. I just answered her desperate pleas for help and that's the reaction to it?

Both my mom and sister are #$%@#%$ drama addicts. :x

...awaiting word from the police. [sigh]

I agree. Your sister is struggling with some serious psychological issues, and even though she claims to "hate" you right now, you acted in her best interest.

Tylenol is VERY lethal, just not right away. You die in the hospital a few weeks later wishing you could get on the UNOS list for a liver, but suicides don't.

You definitely did the right thing. Hopefully she'll either get the help she needs, or she'll realize that being dramatic to get attention will get her attention that she doesn't want.

apparently the moron man came back too. Damn... she'd be better off without the passive-aggressive manipulating loser (but she looooooOOOOooooooves him.)

So - "mission accomplished" for her... cry loud enough, they'll feel bad and come back. :wall:

If anything being accused of being suicidal for 'attention' can just make suicidal feelings worse.....but calling 911 was the right thing to do. But yeah even when it comes to false suicide threats chances are there are still underlying issues that need addressed, It could be that she is serious about attempting and can't bring herself to do it so she doesn't. It's actually a rare occurance that someone would threaten suicide purely for 'attention' in the superficial sense........the attention they seek would probably be help not more hate and anger from those around them.

But just my two cents, I don't know her I just know usually even false suicide threats are an indication of some issue according to what I've learned in psychology and my own experience with feeling suicidal.

Tylenol doesn't kill directly, it is a far more painful death. It kills your liver, and you die slowly.

You did the right thing.

I called 911 on someone who took some much more powerful drugs.

She hated me for 2 years, and then one day called up and thanked me for what I did.

We become good friends again.

If it helps, I live with a girl who is very messed up and I personally believe has Munchausen's Syndrome/ Factitious Disorder, she'll do anything to get attention. She often kicks off massively in the way your sister did with you and for her it's often a continuation of the drama which she thrives upon..the kick off feeds into it if it makes any sense?
Having spent large amounts of the last 10 years severely suicidal, I never ever believed anyone could be purely attention seeking when they overdose until I met her.

It's just her dramatic way of getting back with husband. If she's done it before maybe try calling her first before the cops. But maybe she deserves it for being so melodramatic.
