Take up meditation for a happier life. :)

Quote:
Buddhist monk is the world's happiest man

Tibetan monk and molecular geneticist Matthieu Ricard is the happiest man in the world according to researchers at the University of Wisconsin. The 66-year-old’s brain produces a level of gamma waves - those linked to consciousness, attention, learning and memory - never before reported in neuroscience.

I am unable to meditate it seems. I do love those Tibetan singing bowls and gongs, though. :)

I've been practicing Mindfulness for a few years now and it has made an enormous difference to my wellbeing. It's not that the upsetting thoughts and emotions go away. They are still there (before enlightenment I was depressed - after enlightenment I was still depressed as a Buddhist monk is reported to have said), but I don't get embroiled in them as much as I used to. Just a thought, just an emotion, it will pass.

Here is a link to a relevant Wikipedia Article on Gamma Waves -- not to be confused with gamma radiation.

My psychologist taught me mindfulness. It helps.
