I always wanted to date in high school but I saw that it was so competitive that I would never have the chance, so I didn't think it was worth putting in the effort. Now I read a study where it says that 94% of 18 year olds have dated at least once. If dating is so competitive, I don't see how this is possible. I now feel really behind. I'm 20 and may never catch up. It's sad that I had to read a study to see how far behind I am.

It seems that teens all around the world have dated throughout history, so I am the only person missing out on this. The meaning of my life since preschool was to get a girlfriend, but i haven't even socialized with a female under 40.

I feel that the economy is to blame as to why I can't get a girlfriend, in addition to the declining state of America throughout my childhood. If the economy was fixed, I would get a girlfriend.

I can't concentrate on my schoolwork because of this.

if it helps in any way, my girlfriend of 2 years, was 20 when she had her first boyfriend. He ended up cheating on her shortly after, and got with me some time later.
I also lived with a guy a while back, and he didn't have a girlfriend till he was 24-25. He and his girlfriend ended up getting engaged later that year.
I know how frustrating it is (I was often given the "your so sweet, but I love you like a brother" speech), and trust me when I say this, but sometimes, focusing so hard on something for too long can actually make achieving it harder!
I'm almost falling asleep right now (not long taken my meds), but I'll be back tomorrow to see what anyone else has said, and try and help you out

I can't see the connection between the declining wealth of a rich country and not being able to get a girlfriend.
