Are there a lot of horrible people in this world ....

My conclusion is yes, there are a lot of horrible people in the world, but then there are a lot of people (good and bad) in the world. If you were to ask what percentage of people are horrible, then it's probably not very much, but even if say only 5% of people are horrible, there's still a very good chance of encountering a lot of them in everyday life.

I am thinking that I probably am partially responsible for not eliminating them from my life.

Yeah I relate to that, the trouble is you often don't get to find out how horrible someone really is before it's too late, before they've ingratiated themselves into your life and getting rid of them becomes a more complex issue.

That is variable...
If they laugh or join in on bullying the defenceless, then they are horrible.
If they don't tolerate it, it shows they are good at heart.

To be honest with you, I don't think there is one person that would be able to befriend everyone. In actuality, everyone in this world can be potentially horrible about anyone. It's a matter of choice.

I don`t think its the people that are horrible, but the direction society is headed. People are easily influenced. Good people are not speaking up or taking leadership.

I tend to think so. I think most people seem to be motivated solely by self interest and he drive for power and dominance. It's amazing how amazed people are when I do little favors or show respect to others. Kindness is not an American virtue.

The thing is that the lower quality people may not be the majority, but they are far more noticeable. Plus, with Asperger's, the odd quality of interaction you have with others may make them think you are being obnoxious towards them and so they will treat you poorly because of the communication issue. Most people are not that bad, but most do not wish to deal with others that are not immediately easy to deal with. Thus, they will be more standoffish towards those who present any resistance to easy socialization and will seem to be rather foul to deal with.

Selfish is probably a better word.
