As a non-God believer, I often wonder if this planet is too good to be true. So often I wonder if I'm just some sort of chemical been formed in outer space 2 years ago, a bit like a mini brain floating around, just dreaming of all this. That's what I'm starting to believe. Well, I'm the only one who's in this body, seeing out of these eyes, so do me and everyone else in my life really exist?

How do us humans have such a clever mind? Where did our language that we speak come from? Why have different countries got different languages? Why have different places got different accents, even in one small country? How is there endless amount of people on this planet, all having a different look and a different personality from each other? And why is there so many different animals? Where did they come from? And are we all related to everybody, in a way?

It's so wonderful, yet so impossible to believe when you really stop and think about it.

For me, I highly value the fact that I have an attention-span that makes oneself able to even wonder about how these all evolved, how life evolved, the universe, different cultures etc. ( whether you're aspie or not ). When I look up at the night sky it is very humbling to realise how small we are, but when flying around different continents I see such amazing variety of cultures we have on this planet.

I am glad that many other people I'm met also share a wonder of the World and the Universe; whether they are NTs or aspies.

On the other hand it's sad that so many other people out there have an attention span that is limited to celebrities on TV, and their views on the World are so gullible to what tabloid reporters write.

I grew up with a very spiritual father that believes reincarnation onto different planets as well as this one exists. My mom is very religious. Because of that, I've always asked a million questions and still do about life and what it all means, and because of that, it is nice to know others that do question. I still get frustrated at what we are supposed to do. Are we supposed to be nice to people when nice is subjective and when it can be perceived as nice, but the other person might be hurt even more? Additionally, I still have yet to find a purpose for our existence as everything I think about could be easily refuted with facts.

Sometimes I get to an idea that we are all one, that everything is so delicately connected that we are all related in the sense that we all make up one thing, one very beautiful thing that is incredibly hard to understand with just one human brain. Just like parts in our body make up our entire body to make a beautiful human, maybe everything we see makes up one thing. But then of course, what is that one thing and what does that one thing mean?

When I get really frustrated and want a good laugh over life's meaning, I then read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Then I feel better as the author delve "deep" into the meaning of life and out comes a number... Numbers were preferable to letters growing up, so I don't discount his theory

Firstly, I believe some French philosopher already stated he could just be a disembodied spirit dreaming of the world.

I have sometimes wondered about my perception - what would this world be if I didn't see it as I do? What are these 3 dimensions? How do we touch things? How is this more real than a computer generated world? Sometimes when I look at something, it becomes more and less real at the same time, like going from old TV to cinematic 3d, but nothing really changes. There is no word for that feeling.

The greatest question we can ask is how the universe began (and one we can't answer scientifically). The next greatest question is: how can we ask this question? Supposedly, the Japanese have a word to describe the sheer existential awe experienced when considering the wonder of the universe - "yugen".

I believe that the evolution of animals into their infinite variety is well discussed and explained by scientific papers and journals, as is the evolution of language (I could talk for a long time on the latter, and probably a fair bit on the former - PM me or start a new thread if you want to discuss with me).

Forgive me if this doesn't add to the discussion but it reminded me of a theory (that I don't believe in) regarding our "lives".

When we "die" we repeat our lives and everything is the same time, places, people, etc. BUT...

It's a sandbox meaning we can influence different outcomes directly by our words and actions.

We'd remember everything from out past lives, and due to this, our brains would eventually overload with all the knowledge and memories we have obtained.

Of course each person would have their own universe, so literally everything is your personal sandbox.

Personally I would love to do this. Repeating life with everything I know now? Crazy good.

This idea has been developed by philosophers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solipsism
