Not so much for me because I have nowhere to go and nothing to do, pretty much like every year. I got dressed up and went to a dance on Friday but it would be nice to do something ON Halloween. Nobody even comes to trick-or-treat at my apartment but that's okay because candy is expensive and I don't want to trot up and down the stairs all evening to hand it out, anyway. I have osteoarthritis in my knees now and climbing stairs makes them crack and hurt. I usually just put on a costume and play some spooky tunes, but today I don't really even feel like doing that. Maybe I'm just tired or getting too old. But I don't think it's fair I'm not supposed to go trick-or-treating just because I'm an adult. It wasn't that long ago that Halloween was mainly for kids but now it's okay for adults to get dressed up and have parties and stuff. But I don't get invited to parties, and if I had one myself there would be no one to invite. Also if I did go out I'd have to wander around alone in the dark and that's not safe at any time of year. Also the kids at the high school have been lighting off really loud fireworks just behind the building I live in. It's like the school board and the teen's parents don't care at all. My mother even told me on Monday that someone poured epoxy glue into the 40-dollar locks at her work building one night and they had to break at least one of them just to get in. The excuse for whoever did is probably the very unoriginal "I was bored". Ugh. I was going to go out shopping with a friend today but she called me and said she couldn't make it because she had a bad slip and fall while downtown and banged up her nose and face! She said she's okay but need some time to recover. I had a feeling something like that would happen, though I was sure she was just going to get a bad cold or flu. And to top everything off, I went down to the drugstore for a refill but they said I was all out and needed to call my doctor. I told them I had seen him just last week and he said he was going to call the pharmacy and refill everything but they told me they hadn't. So I took out my cell phone and called the hospital right then and there. Of course he wasn't in but the receptionist said she'd give him the message. Almost as soon as I got home I got a call from the pharmacy and was told the dr. had just sent my refills and they were all ready! But I don't feel like walking back and if they deliver I might not hear them at the door downstairs, it's happened over a dozen times, and I have enough meds for today and tomorrow morning so I guess I'll pick them up then. I know a lot of other people have it a much worse right now because of hurricane Sandy, but I just needed to vent.
