It obviously didn't work because I'm still typing this.
It takes a lot of courage and energy to reach out as you have done. I worry about the high rate of suicidal attempts and incidents in the AS community. Perhaps we all do, never knowing when or how any of us may become burnt out, overwhelemed, ambushed by a sense of hopelessness, and trying to deal with this alone..
Can you create a safety plan? Is there a safe place, or a safe person you could spend some time with as you get through this?
I found a 988 helpline online which claims to assist autistic people as well as neurotypicals. I'm assuming your hope is low at the moment and you may fear not being understood by those help lines. Maybe give it a go and let us know if it was helpful?
Your energy may be very low though connection is really important for you right now... I also know many of us don't like making phone calls at all, especially when we feel really depleted. Calling a helpline is challenging, and takes energy. Please stay in touch with updates.
