I was on Facebook last night and some kid from school shared a photo from some messed up group called, "Losing All Faith in Humankind" or something like that. It was a picture, of a woman's bloody corpse strapped to a bed with a crucifix in her mouth. I couldn't sleep after seeing it and I can't stop thinking about it. How can I make myself forget all about it?

read a good book if you're a reader, especially right before bed. you also might want to try 1/2 tsp powdered ginger in warm sweetened milk or water right before bed to help you drift off. if you're not a reader, try a video game or a TV show. this may not erase the memory, but should gradually lessen its influence.

I called my friend and listened to some music, which helped, but thanks for the advice.

It might help to keep in mind that it's almost guaranteed that the picture's not real, and try thinking about how they got the picture (presumably all makeup and effects). That might lessen it's shock value for you and make it easier to forget about it after a while. Even if you still end up thinking about it for a long time, at least it should be less disturbing that way.

Distract yourself. Books, TV, games - whatever. If it comes into your brain, purposely think of something else.
What has been seen can never be unseen... but every time you think of it again, you refresh it and make it stronger.

I couldn't find the page, I just looked, but it's FB, it's not real.

Meh, once you've seen the Zapruder film and the Kennedy and Oswald autopsy photo's a million times nothing's disturbing.
