Happy birthday
So I was at the computer store having my laptop fixed and while I was waiting I noticed that the song played was quite unusual. For one thing it wasn't really a song at all. Just a girl talking in the usual manner the girls talk, there was no singing. Perhaps there was some music on background or perhaps not, but that didn't affect the rhythm of girls conversation. Anyway what she was saying was this:
Hey ... happy birthday ... Lets take a pic ... Lol, C'mon just one smile
And the other good thing about it is that I didn't ever feel it was too boring or too repetitious (even though it was said several times). I believe the key is that she would alter the order in which she says things, like sometimes she would say "happy birthday ... c'mon just one smile" without mentioning pic.
To me it was like the bestest thing I ever heard. I mean I am really lonely and I really wish a girl could talk to me. And in fact I can easily imagine it happening, especially "c'mon just one smile" part, that is totally like something they WOULD tell me when they talk to me, but it happens only once in ages.
This brings me to ask: could this song be designed for loners like me? Like the love songs are designed to fulfill the sexual fantasy, in the same way "just one smile" song was designed to fulfill the friendship fantasy.
By the way when I try to picture the underlying scenario portrayed in this song, I can't help but picturing that the person she is speaking TO is a guy, who is probably liking her, and probably he doesn't have her (either because he doesn't have guts to tell her how he feels or else he did tell her and she LJBF-ed him, either one of these two options). The "just one smile" part seem to indicate the guy is probably pouting, since he can't have what he wants; and perhaps birthday is there for a reason -- as in she is not that nice to him otherwise but she wanted to make his life less miserable just because of his birthday? How about you guys? What do you picture this song to represent?
