I'm a 30 y/o single aspie and I live on my own. I haven't had a hug in about 6 months. It's a simple thing that should come casually or romantically at some point or the other,.. but for me it doesn't. I really want one but I don't know how to relay that to people/friends. I was just wondering how many other aspies out there have this frustrating feeling and how long it has been for you?

I have not had one for 7 or eight months from someone who I known fora few years and the previous one to that was from a waitress in a coffeeshop in Amsterdam. I was lucky to receive those Because I often go years without receiving one or it being appropriate to give a hug.

Am I the only one who really does not feel anything when I am hugged? I do not like or dislike hugs; for me, they are just somebody covering your torso with their arms. No different from, say, the feeling I get from resting on a chair (because chairs also cover a large part of your torso; specifically, your back). Or wearing a heavy jacket (which I dislike, because I am almost never cold).

I think it's been almost 2 and a half years for me. I don't care. I don't like to be hugged.

I love hugs from people I care about, Strong hugs make me feel connected. All senses are alert. It's welcome touch, as opposed to all other touching which I dislike profoundly (light touching).

I didn't ever recieve hugs until I got into a relationship. I think in my culture it's not common for friends to casually hug each other, and oh, my parents would occasionallyy hug me after a fight. I'd say if where you live it's more common sense for people to give casual hugs, jsut ask one of your friends for one, maybe explaining that you're depressed or something. Oh, and ht elast tiem I was hugged was on Thursday.

Hm, aside from parents and relatives? Probably close to two years. Even when one of my best friends was a girl in college, I never, ever hugged her once. We loved each other as friends but...I just couldn't initiate a huge, or something, ha! Then again, I went through four years in a row in a long term relationship prior to this so perhaps I've filled my hug quota. Perhaps.

Come to think of it, it has been a while. I mean a real hug. not just one you give to be nice. I don't like my parents touching me and I don't have a girlfriend, so I can't think of anyone who would want to hug me.

So many sad people here claim they don't want hugs!

If you don't feel anything when you're being hugged,.. then they're not doing it right..
