But focus on the positive instead, although people say im a negative person. I recently got in contact with my aunt again which is great. We get along better then I thought and she is very understanding of the whole Asperger's deal. The thing is her kids are noisy and I don't want to be disrespectful towards her by listening to an mp3 as she does, talk to me every now and then. Nor do I want to say, hey your kids are too noisy for my ears. Is there better ways to cope with loud noises then block the sound out?

Dear Oceanica,

Before I offer you advice, I need a little more information. How many kids does she have and how old are they?

If they are old enough to not need constant supervision, it might be appropriate to ask if they can play outside, or to hand them an age-appropriate video game and suggest that they play it in another room.

With more information, I may be able to offer you better advice.

I hope you will think of me as
Your friend,
