How long have you ever gone without talking?

I know we can’t talk before we learn to, but that’s not the point—that’s why I exclude childhood.

I got mad at my family for some stupid reason, and didn't speak for an hour or so.

I felt bad and apologized after that.

Can't remember. Perhaps somewhere in the region of 8-12 hours.

I do not like talking, but just when I get used to the silence some stupid person interrupts it. Like mailman or a phone call or I have to go shopping or someone. Now I have people around me. They have this urge to talk to me. ugh.

I don't usually speak in real life, I preserve my voice as much as possible
I communicate with my classmates by writing on each other's notebooks in class.

That seems funny

Maybe 2 or 3 days? I'm not sure. My parents were on a holiday once so i was home alone and pretty much played video games, ate and slept a few days in a row without speaking to anyone until one of my friends called to come over.

I think the longest was for 2 - 3 weeks, because I had no one to talk to.

It would be funny if words would run out. One day you wake up and you can't talk because you don't have any words left.

The longest time I've gone without talking recently is a few hours. I always have people around somewhere whether they be family, friends, professors, classmates, etc. It is impossible to be silent for prolonged periods of time when I go to a school with 30k people and live in a family of six.

Most of high school I suppose.

A couple of weeks. It was a religious retreat, and I had everyone convinced that I was mute. I carried a little notepad and a pen, did a lot of pointing, and got pretty good at charades.

The only problem was that when people thought I was mute, THEY FELT THEY HAD TO SHOUT IN MY FACE FOR ME TO HEAR THEM!

I'd hold up a 3x5 card that said "I am mute. I am not deaf. Please do not shout.", and they still persisted in shouting.

Christians ...

If I have literally nothing to do, I can go without speaking for 2-3 days quite easily. I just use Fb, text etc.

not long enough

I never lived alone so I interacted with someone most every day. When my parents were gone on trips for a few days or a week I talked to our dog or my chinchilla as well as talked to myself just randomly which I do when I know I'll be alone by myself for awhile.

These look like two quite different questions to me.

I answered the poll based upon the thread title and NOT the poll question, though I'm afraid I probably managed to screw that up as well. I'm afraid I mentally bracketed on "[to others]" onto the end to wind up answering "How long have you ever gone without talking [to others]?" as 4-7 days.

My "full-disclosure" answer would look something like this:

Gone without talking to others:
4-7 days, as answered in the poll

Gone without talking, including to myself:
2 Days - I'm afraid I'm an inveterate talker to myself, particularly when involved in doing something (jigsaw puzzles, video games, even reading sometimes)

Literally without emitting any speech sound...
A few hours, I guess. At some point I'm going to yawn, stub my toe and yelp, etc.

Not that anyone cares, of course. But is there any way I could leave what I thought an incomplete answer on the table? Ha. Welcome to my life on the ASD.
