I wish I had sophisticated tastes in music instead of listening to anime soundtracks. But oh well. Post some sad depressing music here when you feel down and want to...I don't know how that works. Homeopathically cure yourself of your down-ness?

My hero Taylor Swift has plenty of sad songs...not sure why but the sad ones tend to be my favorites.

One of the most beautiful and saddest pieces I have heard in a long time. I actually cried for 10 minutes after hearing this piece in the car for the first time at the humbled age of 19...

first heard this in the post-bombing scene in Platoon. then saw it used sarcastically in a video describing the "endangered" rich people in the US. sad and gorgeous.

Ha, Cathylynn! You and I chose the same piece! Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings! Mine is for choir though.

Barber's Adagio for Strings in Em, Op. 11 can cause anyone on the verge to slash their wrists. The haunting music of Philip Glass also makes me want to slash my wrists.

Roll On - by Dntel (Perfect music to listen to while aimlessly driving around in the rain)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MTOKhu4aOg

The District Sleeps Alone Tonight - by The Postal Service (I was going to put Natural Anthem down but that would just be cruel)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FqmJy8HzQI

Title and Registration - by Death Cab for Cutie (Soooo many other good songs by them but this is the song that got me "into" death cab so I have to go with this)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGEyqP0744c

Duncan, Where Have You Gone - by Benjamin Gibbard (Really the only non uplifting song on his solo album)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHVox9LlCUU

Blue Spotted Tail - Fleet Foxes (Music to listen to during an existential crises)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teElNB0WuDI

Each Coming Night - Iron and Wine (Man everything Sam Beam does is great just listen to his entire discography)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viXMXo1aG-Q

Not all of these are mega sad but they're all attached to sadness forever in my mind because I was sad when I listened to them

Just in case you didn't read the title of this post...go ahead and kill me, as (by most NT standards) a man should not be so sensitive to music; alas, I am very sensitive to music. This piece can lead me to tears at times.
It's Chopin Etude opus 25, number 7.

Scott Joplin -- Bethena A Concert Waltz

This was done by Joplin shortly after his wife passed away. I get the chills everytime I listen to it. I can't help but feel the sorrow and loss he put into this piece whether it was intentional or not.
