Johnny is depressed lately. I told my psych about a savage beating that happened to me years ago (even though the injuries have healed) and I dunno what to do.

I think I have PTSD. I am just scared that everyone is after me now! :(

Oh I know beyond any doubt that I have it, I won't allow myself to weigh on you with the details though, much less anyone I know personally. Luckily most cases have far simpler triggers than anything directly relating to AS. As a rather outdoorsy person I get my savage beatings from mother Earth generally, but the psychological ones are worse by miles. Whenever something in your personal life drags up those memories, try to focus on how you can impart the strength you're using to mask your feelings on someone who needs it in the moment. Healing is reflexive.
