My mother is having her colonoscopy today, and she has been arguing with my father over getting cheap popsicles and my father and brother not getting the right ones, or paying for them wrongly. Whatever the cause, this argument has escalated and now I feel sad even though I have no part of it and it is over something trivial.

It may be a subconscious trick to divert her mind from the colonoscopy. They aren't fun anyway (I've had plenty), and there may be worry about what it will reveal. I hope the outcome is good for her.

I know how you feel.

My mum used to get angry and yell at my dad if anything wasn't they way she wanted it. Made for lots of arguments, and I wish they would have split up.

In your case though, I would consider that your mum may be very anxious about the procedure and if anything bad is found (cancer etc)

Crossing my fingers that everything is ok......
