Not Standing up for myself? Feel REALLU crappy, ick.
Okay, I am sure that this has been asked before, but since I am new, I'll ask anyway.
Am I the only Aspie who doesn't stand up for themselves? Or take credit when it should be yours?
Example: I am in a Discrete Math class because I SUCK at Math, and last week, at the end of the day, I was early to class. On the board was a drawing of an upright rectangle with what looked like slashes in it. Next to said rectangle was the number "40". (This example of wonderous art being left over from my teacher's previous Algebra 1 class.)
I sit and stare at it. Somehow, it looks familiar, but I can't place it. You know, that tickly feeling in the back of your brain? Anyway, at the start of class, our teacher tells us that if we guess what it is, we would have no homework. The only clue was that it had forty slots in it.
NATURALLY, being seniors with a PLETHORA of social time, hahaha, we don't want ANY homework. (Yea, some of us need to fill that time . . . thanx.)
So, the WHOLE class jumps in and after five minutes no one has it, when, IT HITS ME!
It's a CD Rack!
I don't know why I did this, but I next leaned over to the girl next to me (She is a BAD person, seriously . . . . mean, selfish rich, ungrateful, DISGUSTINLY tan in the MIDDLE of WINTER) . . . . and I ask her if she thinks it could be a CD Player. She replies in her condecending way that she doesnt really care.
As I lean back into my seat, she shouts out the answer!! !! ! AND SHE CONTINUES TO BRAG AOBUT IT FOR THE REST OF CLASS!! !
Argh, is it normal to just sit there and let her take it, because as we ALL know, SNOBBY Paris Hilton Wannabes don't have enough popularity....*sigh*.
I can't explain it, but my hands got all sweaty and I felt really cold, but I just COULDN'T stand up for myself.
Like I asked, is this normal, or am I just a coward?
you shoulda just yelled it. she sounds stupid though

You shouldn't even care what she thinks. Even if you are just naively curious about something, you can't expect her to respond appropriately to even the most trite thing you say or do, so it doesn't matter. My advice: think for yourself, and, stand up for yourself:
I never stand up for myself, i always think of the perfect comeback like five minutes later, It pisses me off cause people who make fun of me are generally less skilled, smart, and pretty.
the only time i did stand up for myself was in a physical confrontation, this girl at soccer practice slapped me and i told her i'd make her face into the gym floor. Im good at defending myself physically, they dont call me Kamikaze Chris for nothing, but the verbal abuse i just cannot take. For the fact I never stood up for myself ruined my life, if i could do third grade all over again I would've kicked that boy's a** into next week. It would've been awsome because I've been know to really hurt people before, and he deserves to be really hurt.
you should tell that girl she'll get skin cancer, LOL! The only way I would fake tan is too get rid of my soccer tan, but other than that...well I turn jaundice yellow when I tan so yeah...

Grr . . . .
Dude, its obvious she knows your smart, now, so, you have her trust there. So, next time something like that happens, get her to say something really stupid and change it up
