Why does cutting feel so good?

I know it's not a good thing to do. But it makes me feel really good. I don't understand why.

It is like a release of tension, and then moments later I feel really relaxed and happy. And this probably sounds very strange, but it also makes me feel slightly aroused...

I don't know why it has this effect, nothing else makes me feel like this. And it makes me want to keep doing it, because when I don't I just feel angry, or sad, or empty. What the hell is wrong with me? :?

Part of me wants to take a hot poker or iron to my face and leave a scar. Just thinking of the pain feels good.

Although if I did that questions would be asked.

There is nothing wrong with you as such. Cutting releases endorphins, which is a natural opiate, but it is probably better to trigger the release by exercising.

I guess I get that part, but it shouldn't be making me feel sexually aroused, should it? I don't even know what to say about that, it just seems really messed up :?

Maybe not. Do you have sexual fantasies about cutting other people?

If it excites you then the arousal could be from the Epinephrine (Adrenaline).

...not until recently. I try not to do that because it seems wrong, and I don't do it often. But yes, I have several times.

Are you fantasizing about killing people?

No, definitely not.

Serial killers are often sexually aroused by killing their victims, but you are not doing anything wrong as long as you are not forcing anyone against their will in real life. A fantasy is just a fantasy, however odd it might seem.

I still think about cutting. I did deep ones, left noticeable scarring. One of them is exceptionally larger than the other...that might have been my last one. I don't know if I'll ever do it again. It wouldn't seem proper, I'm too old for that stuff now.

Then again, desperation knows no bounds.

I have never done it as release and it does not bring me pleasure.
It happens when I fly into a rage and self hatred and that is what fuels it.

I don't know because I never cut, I did however used to bite myself instead…hmmm :-(

Here is something that although not for autistics might help you if you want to change this…
