E2LA here. So, I have a lot to say here, so here goes.

As of today, it is confirmed that I am mildly autistic, which finally gives me closure about something that has bugged me for the past several-odd years. The question is, where do I go from here? Since 2008ish, I have gone on many soul-searching journeys, but now that my biggest fears has been confirmed, I am left wondering what to do with my life.

Here's what's happened to me: I graduated HS in 2005. I graduated from college 8 years later, both on the same calendar date, June 10. I've never had a job, and live on a fixed income (and that's as far as I will go on that subject, I am a bit skittish talking about that), I go to my future home Los Angeles once every July, and the San Jose area every Memorial Day weekend. My sister is married, but as far as love goes, I was in one relationship for a week to start the year, and I've only gone on one date. I've also had people shun me because I talked too much to them (and thought I was a stalker to them as a result), but I now know better on that.

What is left for me? Well, I may start planning for my Japan trip for this year soon, and I will go to SakuraCon in Seattle, which is a month from now as of this message. It may be my last, or it may not, because of my impending move to Los Angeles.

As for finding love? Well, maybe if a woman my age who understands me finds me, she may be the one for me, and we're off to Hollywood together. :)

So, this is E2LA quoting Casey Kasem: "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars." I hope the future brings good things to me.

I just want to say thank you to my many supporters and friends I've made in the almost year and half I've been on here. It's been a long journey for me, and it means a lot to me.

Hollywood is one of the cheaper parts of LA. It was mostly built before World War 2, so there's lots of apartments and residential hotels, it was only after the war that developers decided to build detached tract houses. When I was visiting Hollywood ages ago, there were free papers with tons of classified listings for apts. It's likely that Craigslist has replaced such publications. The good news is, if you mostly live in central or western-central LA, you will likely not need a car. You can use a bicycle or a motor scooter. It is densely populated and some aspies have trouble with that. I don't, I lived in downtown San Francisco for a while.

That I'll consider.

All the best, but I probably couldn't deal with LA. There's a fair amount of violent crime where I'm at now, so I'm pretty much used to all that. But to have the most corrupt police force in America to deal with on top of everything else? I'll pass.

I left Seattle for SLC 4 months ago and I haven't missed Seattle for even a second. Follow your dreams.

What degree do you have in college? What kind of job do you hope to get in LA?

The best you can do for yourself is just keep learning from the mistakes you make, and learn not to dwell on them or repeat them. Aspies make a lot of em socially, if we stayed on the computer all day and never tried to be a functioning member of society, we'd never learn those social skills we really want to learn.

Something in the advertising industry is what I am aiming for.

If you have credentials in marketing, NBC-Universal does a TON of hiring in LA. Once you set up an account on their site, applying to jobs is really easy. Granted, I've applied to maybe 300+ positions and gotten one call out of it, but it's something.

And now my friend asks me this: I should probably be saving money for moving to Los Angeles instead of going to Tokyo. Which should I do?

Anybody have any suggestions as to what I can do with my life now?

Figure out what you are interested in and think of ways to pursue it in LA. LA is great, I love LA.

And yes, I am still wanting to move to Los Angeles; I just found this girl I met @ Fanime, but had an awkward convo with her over the phone today. I just sometimes think to myself because I sometimes have these awkward conversations, I'm unmarriable, and am as only as good as Casey Anthony or Jerry Sandusky. :(
