I'll try to keep this short because I know the more lines of text I type the higher the percentage of people pressing "back" before even reading a single line becomes.

Earlier this night I realized that -the- reason that I overthink/research a lot of situations is because if I don't, I'll end up making stupid "tunnel vision mistakes" were I gullibly follow the first explanation/way of doing something as -the- way of doing it. And realizing those mistakes makes me have a mini freak out where I overthink -that- entire process and feel betrayed by my own brain and intelligence. So I've learned to overthink/research and follow tested routines and patterns to not make mistakes.

Having overthought the process of overthinking is making me overthink even more and I've been stuck doing it with me realizing it and getting annoyed/freaked out about it for two hours now.

See I'm overthinking everything from the first sentence to this ninth to last one. Help, how do I stop overthinking, overthinking? (uh oh I think I just added another overthinking) Sorry for using the word overthinking so many times. (ARGH!) All of this can also come from having a cold/fever and feeling loopy like I'm high or something. I was actually overthinking to a point where I thought I was a manipulative psychopath and this thread started like that and warped to what you see above and I even had to think and edit in back this sentence and the next three. What do you guys think? Has my brain gone kaputt? How long till I should start calling someone before I start doing something really stupid?

The Squid thinks you're just afraid of being wrong, and being caught being wrong. This is why you check your facts, then double check, and check that you've double checked. Nobody in life is perfect (Even if they spend their lives trying to be.) We can't give any solid advice on how to avoid this, but you must let go of that nagging feeling that you've done or said something wrong. Chances of you running into someone who verbally corrects the smallest of your mistakes are small, and even if they do, they have the same problem you do, but in reverse. We want you to start by telling someone that a Turnip is a fruit. Let them correct you. Then you will see that "Perfection Rejection" is not too bad. :D

Something went really wrong in my brain last night.. I went to bed and laid there for hours thinking and thinking till I fell asleep and then only slept for 3 hours but now I feel sooooooooo rested and quiet in my head.

Did my brain go into dream/sleep mode while I was still awake and was basically tripping out?

The Squid is right, you must practice to overcome this.

But if you are saying that it's hard to communicate effectively and that bothers you, them yes, there are many who have that in common with you.

Still, though, there, too, practice is the only way to improve. If someone here looks down on you, well, you can learn to get through that.
