Last week they stole my bike.

I got a new one and today I got back from school with the bus and walked to my bike and they stole the seat of my bike :(.

If you are a thief, I hate you.

Every bike I ever had as a kid was stolen, cut off the chain even. People that do that have no shame, a couple thugs even tried to push my brothers off their bikes in the park to steal them but luckily my dad was there to chase them off.

That sucks.

The bike I had as a kid was stolen too, when I was doing a paper round. I don't understand how people can do it, especially the people who steal them to joyride then just dump them.

When lived in San Francisco I bought locking adjusters (whatever those levers are called that let you remove wheels and seats on bikes) so that people wouldn't steal my wheels and my seat. You might go to a bike shop and ask them. Also, you could get a U shaped lock. Those are hard to break. I've heard of bikes being stripped while locked. The jerks take seats, wheels, even the danged handlebars (!) leaving a frame locked to the pole.

2,5 weeks ago someone apparently stole my cat (long haired, Norwegian Forest) and near the same day my neighbors cat also disappeared (long haired, Maine Coon). People are just mean. They do anything for money...

My roommates and I had our laptops stolen one day, so he called the police. They couldn't do anything, except give us trouble for a bag of fireworks they found on the couch.

Maybe we should come up with some kind of deterrent to make people stop stealing stuff from each other. Like make them pay money or even take their freedom by placing them in a designated building with guards and such. Then if it doesn't seem to work, we can increase the amount of money or raise the time they have to spend at this place till the "reward" of stealing doesn't even come close to the possible repercussions and they stop doing it.

...

:(

Drives me nuts how the legal system does almost nothing to deter thieves and protect property. I remember someone decided to smash my bike up just for the 'thrill' of it and I was too poor as a kid to get another one. At least with shoplifters/thieves they are usually selling it to someone who can use it. I once worked at a store and people kept stealing the store Turtle. Yes, you heard that right an ordinary turtle! I really don't understand the inhabitants of this strange planet sometimes.....

My house was broken into once. Apparently a bunch of tech lovers broke into my house, stole all the tvs, DVD players, video game consoles, and video games. They didn't even touch my guitars ( really expensive ). They didn't take anything else.

I've always felt one should be allowed to boobytrap ones own house. I asked -that- and if I'd be allowed to walk around with a brick tied to a stick and dangle it in front of me when trying to cross at a crossing where cars are supposed to let me go first on "the official" dutch police forums and I think I'm on some kind of watch list now. The police officers thought I was absolutely insane and a menace to society.

My ex showed up at my house when I wasn't home and carried off some items.he's really stupid becuse he gave the binoculars he boosted off the porch to my son.I was totally able to identify them as mine, the strap had broke and I'd put a homemade one on them.
He showed up to steal again the other day,he called and I didn't pick up,guess he thought I wasn't home.Surprise.I'm pretty sure he won't be back,I made it VERY clear, not going into the details, that he was to never set foot here again.
He later told my son I had went crazy and was on drugs  Nope, just mad.

I love it. If he ever comes back, give him hell for the rest of us.

I have been crying about the theft of my bike, and my son's bike, which I cannot afford to replace. The theft took away our only one source of physical play.

I also hate thiefs.

You could make the best documentary ever, catching the guy who thinks no one is looking, trust me, you'll have a market.
