Well looks like im going to be homeless my time is running out and the last couple rooms being rented got rented out already and the last one I looked at has 5 other people looking at it. I guess I will have to get used to not being online very much anymore and sleeping in my car, I am pissed frustrated and scared at the same time I dont know what is going to happen to me. :(

My landlord is kicking me out of my room to make room for her brother and since I have fulfilled my 12 month lease theres nothing I can legally do about it but pack my bag and clean up my room in hopes for getting my deposit back and pray I get a room from someone else before ending up homeless but it appears I have a shedload of competition for rooms and the odds are against me and building up ten fold!

Wow, that really sucks... Do you have family or friends you can stay with if you need to?

Sorry to hear that, it is crazy how expensive the Bay area is. You could probably have an entire house here for the price you're paying for that room.

Silicon Valley is really difficult to find a room in, due to the social media boom. Since you have a car, I would recommend going to a cheaper area. If you have to stay in California, maybe someplace in the far north state like Redding would work. It's a horrible place to live according to some, but if the only income you have is disability, it's better than sleeping in your car.

Well some good news my landlord talked to me asking me if I found a place yet and I let her know the situation and she decided to postpone for a week and a friend of mine at work is offering to let me crash on his couch at his place until i find a place which is somewhat comforting. I am still going to search for a place though I have heard that the recent increase in competition is due to the 200% increase in rent at local properties in silicon valley this year which is why so many are also scrambling for a room to rent at the same time as I!

I hope you receive lots of tips.

Would you apply at another 7-11 nearby?

You could try moving east bay, I know no one wants to, but it's cheaper. I'm not sure how much houses go for out in Contra Costa, but it's not to far from San Jose. I guess it'd all depend on how much of the bay seems suitable to you. I'm from the central coast so i really have no idea, but I do know what it's like to come from an area where living rates are ridiculously high.

Edit: being in the middle of one of the worst droughts in the history of the state doesn't make it much easier.

Also Half Moon Bay is over the hills to the west and safer of a place than the east bay. The Central Valley is less difficult and if you're near Sacramento or Davis, there are Universities, so there are remtals and sub-rentals.
