As a condition of my release this day program is court ordered i cant quit it, if i dont show up they force me back into the instittuion. the staff is pretty cool.... but it the program just ammounts to a kindergarten day center. There is nothing theraputic about it. The problem is is if there was a problem of any kind and i couldnt show up for while they would not care and throw me back in. I also
know the things and professionals i need become physically whole and mentally stable. The program is pro-drug i am philosophically by necessicity anti drug. they have nothing in the way pscylogists or any sort of therapasits.(sorry the spelling). they are pretty cool about like telling them everything but that might prolong them keeping me in the program. Worse these programs last indefinatly and i just dont want to be part the alter bizzaro world of the mental health system . what should do about this? :( :?:

At one point I was in a day program at the hospital. It was pretty much pointless. The lunches weren't bad. I went every day, it's not like I had a life at that time. I ignored everything pretty much. Except music therapy, which I liked. Is there anything you like?

it has some ok groups on psych ed, i could learn alot more at the local community college. the point is i hate being forced and it limits what i can do or who i can see. plus time is a factor i really need to get off these drugs got me on asap(i know about withdrawal syndrome) they have been giving me major uncontrolled thought mood emotion adn energy level changes plus 2 black outs numerous perceptional shifts and difficulting eating and holding down food and i would pretty much have their cooperation in me going off it and i really would need to stay home to through i slow wd. plus i need to see some serious proffessionals one on one i and i cant afford to just waste most of my week with obligatory wasted time when i could be going doing things or seeing people or going to places who would be much more benefecial. I have enough insight to recognise my mental state is tenuous from all the drugs. i need like atleast 3 days a week with a psychologist not a ignorant pill pusher

If they're forcing you to take drugs against your will, you could probably get a legal challence or human right's case or something like that (especially because of the side effects) depending on where you live and if there's an alternative to the drugs.

they cant legally force me to take them, but my refusal to take them can be grounds for them to force
me back in the "hosptital" where they then can force me. they just have to send a screener to my house and see me in any way emotionally distraught(or they could just lie and say that i am and i would have no legal recourse) and boom its back in to that filthy pit maybe forever.

Does this mean that they wouldn't object to your going off drugs? Maybe it could be a starting point.

Please don't worry about spelling etc. - you are communicating, nothing else matters.

May I ask how old you are? what do they want you to take? do they think you suicidal?

I don't really know where I'm going with this. I'm hoping that more info would lead us somewhere. I googled Lithium. It seems the average dose is 900-1200 mg. per day (3-4 pills). How do you feel with Lithium? and without it?

The only thing I can think of would be to ask them to work with you to become free of meds.

There's a very fine line between treatment with lithium and a toxic lithium overdose. I would find a pharmacist or medical doctor and tell them what you are on and the symptoms you are experiencing because it sounds like you are suffering from lithium overdose.

I would sue the F**K out of them for forcing you to take drugs against your will. Unless you are a proven danger to society, then it is totally wrong.

I feel sorry for you. The 'no pleasure' part is really a bummer, but it maybe so that if you are addicted to the drugs pleasure, it stops it dead. And everything else as well.

I really do feel sorry for you.
