I don't have a coping skill that I'm really good at such as playing music or drawing pictures. The only coping skill I do have is listening to loud music which is a health hazard because I may become deaf. The war in Iraq makes America stupid and I would rather move to England where they have a vote of no confidence to get rid of people who don't know what they are doing or talking about. I don't want to be social anymore because it has led me nowhere but misery and I don't want to be miserable anymore. Sometimes I feel like jumping off the couch to break a bone because the pain would feel better than hopelessness. The HIPAA law is increasing bullying and Bush should get a vote of no confidence for that one. I hate how they don't abolish legislations, that leads corruption in the country. I just want life to be happier.

I was obsessed with politics when I was young. Its a recipe for depression as it will usually cause you for more pain than happiness.

Trust me, the grass isnt greener over here... but i relate to your dislike to the American Govt...

heres an anti-america song to cheer you up :D

The great American Novel

I was born and raised an orphan
in a land that once was free,
in the land that poured
its love out on the moon,
and I grew up in the shadows
of your silos filled with grain,
but you never helped to fill
my empty spoon.

And when I was ten you murdered
law with courtroom politics,
and you learned to make a lie
sound just like truth,
but I know you better now
and I don’t fall for all your tricks,
and you’ve lost the one advantage
of my youth.

You killed a black man at midnight
just for talking to your daughter,
then you make his wife your mistress
and you leave her without water,
and the sheet you wear upon your face
is the sheet your children sleep on,
and at every meal you say your prayers
you don’t believe but still you keep on.

And your money says ‘In God we Trust’
but it’s against the law to pray in schools,
you say be beat the Russians to the moon
and I say you starved your children to do it.

You are far across the ocean
in a war that’s not your own,
and while your winning theirs
your gonna lose the one at home,
do you really think the only way
to bring about the peace,
is to sacrifice your children
and kill all your enemies?

The Politicians all make speeches
while the newsmen all take notes,
And they exaggerate the issues
as they shove it down our throats,
Is it really up to them whether
this country sinks or floats?
Well I wonder who would lead us
if none of us would vote…

Well my phone is tapped and my lips are chapped
from whispering through the fence,
you know every move I make or is that just coincidence?
Will you try to make my way of life a little less like jail,
if I promise to make tapes and slides
and send them through the mail.

And your money says ‘In God we Trust’
but it’s against the law to pray in schools,
you say be beat the Russians to the moon
but I say you starved your children to do it.

You say all men are equal and all men are brothers
then why are the rich more equal than others?

Don’t ask me for the answers I’ve only got one,
that a man leaves his darkness when he follows the son.

By Larry Norman (some-time in the 70's, funny - America hasnt changed much    )

1. America was already stupid before the Iraq war. How do you think we got into it in the first place?

2. One should not be interested in politics if one is an optimist. It is much better to be pessimistic about this things.

3. If music is what makes you happy, then turn down the volume a bit, and you won't become deaf. I've been wearing headphones more or less constantly for six years, and I don't have any hearing damage.

After all, rock concerts and airports are supposed to be quiet affairs, aren't they? ;)

I don't think America is stupid. (I think Bush may be stupid ...., but why worry about what others think anyway?)

IMO one of the things that made America great is the true federal system. The more centralised the power, the less check there is on government misuse of power.

Politics is more than Washington & Bush. Try writing hate mail to politicians from your electorate (but don't get personal). Makes me feel better.

Anyway, what makes you think a PM is gotten rid of from a vote of no confidence any more often than a president is impeached? And your president has a maximum term. We are stuck with our PMs for longer.

Life was dumb long before you came along.

All taxation is corporate welfare, and always has been. America's first war was when they sent 15,000 troops against some farmers who had protested paying tax on whisky they made for drinking, not trade, Shay's Rebellion, 1792.

Lincoln was a corporate lawyer. He represented the trusts that wanted to control the industrial revolution.

Nixon & Kissinger was a law firm, one client, Standard Oil.

Haliburton rehabed Bush, made him rich with the Astros deal, then Governor, then President, to get rid of Saddam so they could headquater the company in Dubai. It is just a tax deal.

Haliburton is a supply company, their customers are oil companies, the war corporate welfare.

hundreds of thousands of people die every day, French Fries kill more people than murder, traffic, suicide, war, combined.

I favor french fries.

Yes, politics are a mess and when one sits down and truely analyzes it, they will only come out asking 'why' with a look for total confusion on their face.

There ARE politics out there that make sense, you just have to find them.

If listening to music is your out, find something that isn't so much depressing, but more uplifting, whether its a nice beat or good lyrics. If you're down, then I think hearing music (which was written most likely out of depression, itself, if its metal/darker stuff) will only encourage more of that state. I reviewed my music libray and almost 90% is all about losing something, drugs, war, etc. All miserable. But, catch 22, all great

As for socializing - yes, it is rough, but as Black Sabbath said:
"Give it all and ask for NO return and very soon you'll see and you'll begin to learn - that its alright"

Being a kid is tough and socializing blows more, during this time, then after. Try and look on the bright side of life, no matter HOW small, it doesnt matter. Even if its simply looking forward to a favourite meal or t.v. show, chalk it up to a 'good thing' and you're on your way to discovering 'more positive' then 'negative' in life.

I hope you feel better...sometimes...exercise or sports could help...like working out at a gym or taking a long walk...some people take care of their aggression through martial arts...I hope you can find coping skills that work for you...

You know, I don't think that the crap that is going on in America is anything new. Culture and politics sees to be in a perpetual cycle between liberal and ultra-conservative. That's not going to change.

Bush is exceptionally stupid. The only reason that he has not yet been impeached is that the country looked so stupid impeaching Clinton. Personally I think that it's only a matter of months before they have enough senators on board to get a conviction. I suggest going to Costco or Sam's and getting the following:

1) A large-screen TV
2) A case of microwave popcorn
3) champaigne (or, in your case, sparkling cider).

These will all be necessary when Bush and Cheney (and Gonzales if he doesn't resign in the meantime) are being humiliated 24/7 on C-Span.

Also, if you are not already doing so, I would recommend some form of excersise as a hobby to help with your depression. I know that ASpies don't have a reputation for being graceful - I'm extremely clumsy. BUT, I like to ride my bike - there's a trail that goes along the floor of the Salt Lake Valley that is nice and relatively even that I go on. I'm sure there's gotta be something similar near you. Water aerobics is also good - though men tend to be scarce at those classes - you get a lot of strengthening from it, but it's also really easy on the joints. It's also nice to be in the water because you don't sweat so bad as regular aerobics. If there is a Gold's Gym or something similar near you, you can try it for a few days before you decide to join OR get a month-to-month if you're not sure about sticking with it (at least in Utah you can).

Last of all, if you want to learn to play an instrument, is there any possibility of taking a group guitar class? Other instrument? Do you have a music program at your school where you can do that? It's a good hobby no matter what.
