I wasn't sure where I should post this, so I'm posting it here. Please excuse me if this isn't the right place to talk about this.

There is this one guy in the same class as me in my school. In short, he is a total jerk. To start, his political views are completely opposite to mine and he butts heads with me over this. He has also bullied me at times, even indirectly insulting the fact that I have aspergers.

The problem is, everyone else in my class thinks he is charming and awesome, so I really have nobody to go to at my school, with the exception of my teachers who just tell me to "Leave him alone." which is impossible because he is pretty much omnipresent in my school life.

I need to somehow deal with this situation so I can move on with my life. Any ideas on how to do this?

Hello PhoenixFalcon,

Ignoring him may be one of the options I can give you at first.

If that doesn't work out, speak with an authority figure at your school that you trust who will listen to your story about your classmate's history of bullying you.

If that option doesn't work out, talk to your parents or legal guardian about your situation and hopefully they'll understand.

Also, if your classmate continues to be a bother you, don't be afraid to speak your mind and stand up to him and let him know that you will not put up with his crappy attitude next time.

As for his political views being different from yours, do your best to respect his as much as he respects yours, even if you two disagree with each other.

Okie dokie. Let's change this part into... ugh, i dunno... any of the following are better:

PhoenixFalcon wrote:
his political views are completely opposite to mine, and i have not informed him of this

PhoenixFalcon wrote:
his political views are completely opposite to mine and he tries to expose his views, but i do not respond

PhoenixFalcon wrote:
we might have different political views, but i wouldn't know, because i don't share my political beliefs

He started talking about politics, so i claimed to have a panic attack so that i could go to the nurse's office and get as far away as possible before one of the most popular kids in the school could take a disliking to me based on my differing views

his political view is that we all need to sell our homes and go live in igloos. what a brilliant mastermind this man is! i have informed him of this, and have purchased a canadian flag which i hung proudly inside my locker

If it makes you feel any better, i was once you. Yes. I did that. Repeatedly. Never again!
