Two things!:

1. My mother is being herself again. And she's making fun of me because I'm getting an Autism Assistance/Psychiatric Service Dog,saying,"You just want people to think you're disabled and feel sorry for you."

2. This guy has come up before.You can find out about him at http://www.wrongplanet.net/modules.php? ... sc&start=0 ...I also made a thread complaining about how when I started to come out,that he kissed me and said,"Are you straight now?"

Anyways,he's telling everyone that I gave him and his best friend a blow job.

Regarding your mother: I think that's a disgusting thing to say. If you need it then fair enough. What does the dog actually do? I have a fear of dogs but I'm curious anyway.

It is trained to perform the following tasks:

1. Wake me up when the alarm clock goes off

2. Pick up dropped objects

3. Retrieve things such as medication or the phone

4. COMPANIONSHIP

5. Calm me down during a meltdown

6. Go get help

7. I THINK it can open and close doors

8. Cuddle on command

9. basic commands


This dog can go ANYWHERE with me.

They train dogs SPECIFICALLY for Aspies and Auties,too. Even small dogs such as toy poodles or yorkies.

They even train CATS now.

If you need the dog then there's no reason why you should be denied it.

How is the dog any use?

I mean it's not like a blind dog that is needed for the person to be able to live, Those tasks anyone should be able to do.. unless you're VERY low functioning, then the dog may be beneficial.

Comfort and support can be provided by a regular pet.

Well if it calms her down and makes her more stable, it's better and safer than medication.

The dog mainly helps with my mood swings,flashbacks,sensory overloads,and meltdowns. This sometimes happens in public.

A PSD can go ANYWHERE (except for private homes and some clubs),and can help me with this. I also become physically weak(although not for long)after these things.

You have VERY good reasons to get one of those dogs, and I'm happy that you are. Regular pets help too, but what if something were to happen OUTSIDE the house? So that's why a special dog is needed.
