I'm having stress issues at work when put on something I don't feel comfortable doing, but when I try to sort it out by asking if I can perhaps swap to a less stressful wing, I'm just told the same cliche ''everybody has certain things they hate doing in their jobs, but sometimes we just have to do them''. That can be true in some work types, but not in what I do. I'm just a cleaner at a care home, and we get given a wing to clean each day, and it doesn't need to be that stressful. It's different when we are short-staffed, but I'm talking about when we're NOT short-staffed. I mean, I don't need to be on the wing what I like the least. Some workplaces can work around problems and issues among workers, to make the workplace a more productive environment. It's not that I want to be given what I want all the time, because it is nice to have a change, but when I've already addressed to the boss that this certain wing makes me feel overwhelmed and stressed, and yet I'm still put on this wing, it does feel a bit frustrating for me.

''A happy worker is a hard worker'' - this quote really describes me. Aspie or not, everyone's different. Some people are happy working anywhere they're put, and may just think ''aw darn, I'm on here again...'' but don't have any overwhelming emotions, while others are more anxious and if there are less stressful environments in the workplace, they prefer to be working in those when possible (which is most days). When I feel under less stress, I feel a lot happier and relaxed, and I get everything done properly without any issues. If I do get anxious about something, I can overcome it because I'm not under much stress, and I can just work self-sufficiently.

Does anyone else get told those ''oh, everybody feels like that'' cliches? Yes, maybe everybody does feel the same way I do about life, but it's your coping skills and confidence what helps people get through these situations. My coping skills and confidence aren't very good. It does make me feel down about myself.

I've been told that before. They just don't understand how much harder things are for us.
Have you applied for other jobs? You've got great experience!

I have been looking for jobs, but they're so hard to come by. But whenever I say that I don't want a job I'm going to feel out of my depth in, people just go ''oh we can't all have everything right in jobs'' or ''we all sometimes have to be in a job we don't like.''

I want to work from home, because I think it will help me work better, especially when I get bouts of Agoraphobia (or social anxiety), but I know that my employment adviser will just say ''oh everybody has to go out and do things, we can't all work from home.''

Is this going to be the advice I'm going to have said to me every time I have a problem? No wonder so many people out there commit suicide. It's like life is ''just deal with stress or die''.

The trick is to find a job that you can stand. They're rare, but it happens. Over the years I did have a couple.
This positive attitude crap your worker is spouting is not worth your concern. Just play along and try to work your way into something better.
