The beautiful shunned are forced to live inside a prison of the mind.

This level of cruelty rides the socially accepted moral equator.

Can we do no better than to reject an entire being because their flaws are exposed?

The lifelong feeling of punishment from other people seems relentless.

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking! Is this something poetic?

It reads like Dadaist poetry. What does it mean?

The poster is suffering from feelings of rejection all his life. He is lamenting this and feels it's cruel.

Ah.

Rejection sucks. My relatives contact me only on my birthday and ... and ...

Yeah, rejection sucks.

It poetry as written by an Aspie.

It's understandable.

I don't mind it--as long as the poet takes steps to attempt to alleviate that situation.

I never was any good at understanding free-form poetry.

But now that I know what it means, I wish that I could do something to assure the poet that life can get better.

I still don't understand why the shunned are beautiful or what it has to do with them being shunned.

I would say, because a "normal" person who may have average looks or who may even be beautiful ... but insecure ... will become jealous or envious of the beautiful person, and as a result will shun the beautiful person. And then when the normal person discovers that the beautiful person that they're jealous of has a flaw, the normal person can then use that as an excuse, weapon, or reason for punishment.

...
