Basically, the title is my point. Emotions are transitory things, they come and go, they help and they hurt, but the only thing that is certain about all emotions is that they pass by in time. Suicide however is permanent. You kill yourself due to a feeling and you let that feeling win. You can fight on and surpass your emotions, just don't give up. Please, for everyone feeling like they want to die, don't give up your life. I've felt suicidal many times throughout my lifetime, including now, but I know I'll get through it and I hope my wife will return because I really do love her. Don't give up though, please, don't give up. Keep going on and win, losing is permanent but you can be victorious over both the emotions and the actual obstacles in your life - just keep pressing on and you'll win. Don't think in terms of reasons to live - life itself is a reason. Keep moving forward, find a coping mechanism - games, books, movies, work, whatever works for you, and keep going on. Don't give up, please everybody, you have no idea how many times I would have taken my own life and I kept myself from doing so. I really wish my wife were still here, but I hope she will be again. I love her. But anyway, for everyone, keep pressing on and conquer your emotions by sheer persistence - time is your ally in life for living, so keep living and don't let the sadness win.

Dear Iamaparakeet,

It is not really about conquering your emotions and rather about letting bad emotions pass, and letting the good emotions (mainly love) grow. I would say that it is the emotions that stay with us and the world around us, because they have a real effect on our thoughts and acts and through that a lasting impact on the things and the people around us.

Try to get more familiar with the nature of change. Like there is a constant decomposition and formation of things, there is a constant transformation of relations between people through their thoughts and deeds, and through the feelings that motivate them. Many Aspergers have a bigger problem with accepting change, because they are less aware of this on-going transformation (some Aspergers seem to be opposite, and deal with it much better than the average). When confronted with change, you tend to exaggerate with your feelings, and vacillate from one extreme to the other, and back and forth. E.g. in your case: Your wife might be bad - she might be good. You want a divorce - you dont want a divorce . You hate her brother - you want to have kind feelings for him. That is not good. This post of yours is better than others, but still: there is more of "I want her back" inside, than "I want her to be happy, with or without me".

People themselves are not bad or good, they have good intentions and bad intentions, which are themselves partly the product of earlier good and bad intentions of themselves and others, sure one can get stuck in bad habits, but you can also work on that and develop good habits of thinking and feeling.

Relaxation techniques help, and some exercises or music. Plus the right kind of texts, for some people it is also art or music. As for religious texts I like intercessions and repeating some prayers in a certain order (maybe incl. the Serenity Prayer?). Be careful with what you choose, and that the words (or acts?) are directed at the well-being of a bigger group of people and of yourself.

Thanks for posting this, guys, and I hope it helps somebody.

Seriously, what is with some people? http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ ... ailsignout So many people in this world have truly serious problems, and someone with a high-profile job shoots himself because somebody else said he belonged to a religion different than his actual church? Huh? What is that? :|
