Between bills we cant seem to get on top, my truck being down with major engine issues and a sh***y day at work, dodger is sitting on the couch in a quiet meltdown listening to music very loudly on his headphones to cope and try to calm down. Got one song on repeat for the last hour, Whats this life for? by Creed. I feel so totaly helpless today, I hate not having my wheels and depending on someone else to get around till the weather improves so i can ride my motorcycle. Pissed the mechanic didnt get the quote to fix my damn truck to me today, not that we can afford it. Feeling used and not appreciated at my job. Just need to vent before I got to bed and hit the reset button and try again tomorrow, hoping for a better day.

Today was a tiny bit better, but not much. Still very down in the dumps and wishing I wasnt around anymore.

Hi artfulldodger.

Did the mechanic finally get back to you? Are there other shops in your area where you can get estimates and do a price comparison? Unless you trust the mechanic or live in a rural area, then it's best to shop around so you won't get swindled.

Sorry about all the bad luck you're dealing with. Sometimes you just need to put one foot in front of the other and keep on moving. At least you know one thing's for sure: the weather will improve, hopefully sooner rather than later. :) Oh and one bit of advice about feeling unappreciated at your job: maybe you can help your coworkers feel appreciated (thank them for helping you with X or mention a good quality you see in them and how it relates to the job/task at hand) and in turn, you'll feel a little bit better. Does that make sense?

I don't know if this is relevant to you, but I thought of this quotation from Shawshank Redemption when I read your thread: "Hope is a good thing...maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."

I got a price from a guy for 700 to install a lower milage engine into my truck. We are discussing where the money will come from but we will probably go with this option to get my truck back on the road. This week, while busy has been good with no meltdowns or shutdowns thus far. Tomorrow I meet with my therapist to process the shutdown last week. dodger
