Helpless and Worried.

I don't know what to do I feel helpless, my friend is considering suicide and I don't know what to do to help him. I only know him online, but I feel bad for him and I am worried of what he might do, I have already lost 2 friends to suicide and I don't think I can take another. I take suicide very seriously as I have seen the aftermath, and I just don't know what to do.

All you could do is offer your friend your support. You are not responsible for any of your friend's actions. It's better to be a presence than an absence.

Try to talk to him about what he is interested in, and what he is happy about. Try to divert him from the suicidal thoughts. Sometimes, talking about something like the weather helps. It doesn't help to get too philosophical most of the time--unless your friend is thinking of philosophical ways to stop feeling suicidal.

The best thing you can do right now is offer your support.

I know how frustrating it is to know that everything else about this situation is out of your hands. You cannot allow yourself to take personal responsibility for the actions of others, but being the codependent person I tend to be, I know that is often far easier said than done.

We are here for you. I do not know what else to say, and I have nothing more that I can offer you but my empathy at this point.

I find myself just lost honestly, he keeps pushing others away, all he wants to do is win that's the only way he finds happiness it seems. Since as we all are well aware you can't always win in life and many times you will hit a loosing streak I don't know what to do.
