I don't usually post in this section and am not sure what I am looking for but hear it goes.

I have this big deep painful sore on my tongue and I am going to an Oral surgeon to have it biopsied tomorrow. I have hardly been eating or drinking the last few weeks. Except for posting on WP  I have been pretty much in shutdown mode the last few weeks. Endless NT people giving advice and "checking up" on me is not helping. Thanks for listining.

Sounds horrid, and I'm sure the biopsy will be stressful and less than pleasant.

When will you get the results?

Ouch. Mouth sores are the worst! How big is it? (Is that an inappropriate question?) Have you at least gotten to gross some people out with some Show and Tell?

Good luck with your biopsy! Hopefully the doctors will be able to rid you of the pain very soon.

Oral surgeon thinks it's suspicious of cancer but he has dropped treating this type of thing because insurance companies are not covering this type of surgery anymore. I got to find a doctor under my plan that covers this situation pronto and get appointment for biopsy. As autistics we hate this uncertainty don't we. I will let you know any updates as soon as I can.

Thanks for the support.

Good News. Found somebody that was willing to do biopsy. Results due in about a week

Bad News: This specialist is also pretty convinced I have cancer

Hope it's not cancer, and is something easy to treat. I've lost relatives to cancer, and had it myself. Had to have a complete hysterectomy, but they caught it early, due to a female bleeding problem. When I had that fixed, they found the cancer, so I have been C-free for about 9 1/2 years now. :D

Just before my operation I had to fill out a lot of paperwork, and burst out laughing when I had to sign a release saying that I understood I would not be able to have kids after the operation. DUH! In my case, kids were not an issue. I never married, as I never wanted to, and never wanted kids, either. If others want them, fine, but it doesn't suit me. The surgery didn't change my feelings about it, either.

Hope things go well with your situation :!:
