Tired of Being Misinterpreted

I really, really hate how my body language and words are regularly interpreted as anger or rudeness, even after I explain myself, especially when it's family members misinterpreting me. Ironically enough, these same family members insist that I try to make friends and all I can think is "Well, if you don't understand me, how the hell is somebody outside my family supposed to?!" I mean, I'd love to improve/expand upon the relationships with my friends, but the thought of being 'friend-dumped' due to be misinterpreted or saying the wrong thing at the wrong time to the wrong person isn't exactly encouraging...
