Last night I kept having nightmares and I would 'wake up' in a dream and another nightmare. I thought I was awake for real and then I did wake up for real but it feels just like when I was asleep. My whole body has felt numb all day. Like as if I don't really have a body and it's giving me the creeps.

Also I heard that someone died today and a colleague at my work got beat up and came in with a black eye and bruises.

I missed my bus on the way home from work and had go wait ages in the dark for my bus and kept feeling like everyone's looking at me. I briefly thought the helicopter that flew past was following me till I realised it's not. I'm really shaky right now... I hate this feeling

Hopefully, with a good night's sleep, you'll feel better in the morning.

Sorry about your co-worker who got beat up.

When I had certain kinds of nightmares and felt scared and creepy, I'd turn on a bunch of lights and read my Bible. I know that you may not be religious. Perhaps there is another book you could read. Something that makes you feel safe or reminds you where you are. A grounding sort of book that is familiar to you.

When I had major depression years ago I experienced some dissociative events like you describe, feeling detached from my body. I have never been a bath person but I had this really clean, crisp pineapple scented bubble bath/body wash and when I had that feeling begin, I'd lay in the water with that bubble bath and it would help to ground me. Are there any smells that make you feel secure and less like a helium balloon? I know that leather is another good one for me. Or coffee grounds.

I'm feeling much better now and that's great advice. :) Thanks so much.

When I was a child, every single night I had a nightmare, usually involving something trying to kill me.
Over the years I learnt that I always wake up the next day, so their terror gradually subsided.
Now I will often eat cheese before I go to sleep as I find the bad dreams I get to be rather entertaining, like living in "The Walking Dead", my life desperately needs something exciting to happen, but I now welcome the exciting dreams.
