Pokemon DID THIS!

Fire Emblem DID THIS!

WP is the only one! That DOESN'T!

My WP friends of 6 years DON'T I text/email them nearly daily! Hell one of them is even above me with a Master's in Criminal Justice! Grades essays even she teaches a few classes at her University! And THEY don't have problems with my writing. Not the best YES but "not the best" doesn't = A'S B'S with 3,000-4,000 word papers! 10-15 pages SHEESH!

Is any type of correction inacceptable to you or just when it's aggressive?

There are grammar Nazis on AC and WP too. You just have to find the threads relating to the subject and you'll know who they are.

They are rude! mention high school english (as the FE board did) or usually mentioning english (in some way) when to me it seemed ok and I just asked a question related to *insert game* Yes I'm sort of repetitious in writing my text but I tend to always do that when "talking" typing on message boards. Tend to do that person to person but I have high anxeity/worry/AS issues. The pokemon board/gamefaq's did it too. AGAIN college degree and written papers (as my post says). Go tell someone smarter than you "You call yourself a professor" THEY HAVE A PhD! What a rude thing to say to someone calling them out on something!

Yes I know THEY don't know I have a Bachelors etc. or different problems as I've mention here on WP and my grammar isn't 100% the best just calling someone out on grammar or there degree or call yourself something or high school english etc.

Again college papers A's B's. I feel it's an INSULT to my intelligence and sort of take it as a personal attack sorry.

So much for broadening my horizons beyond an Autism message board. :-(

People often attack grammar because they want to attack something but have no other ammunition. They cannot attack what you are saying, nor how you are saying it - they just get nitpicky.

It is a reflection on their lack of intelligence, not yours.

I feel *insert game board*

1) answer the question I posed!

2) Ask to clarify is a nice social response. Can you explain that more clearly? What did you just say? These are used in social person to person conversation why it's not used online as much and you just pick apart OMG! your english IMO is a rude response.

I feel again it's an insult to my intelligence you might as well call someone stupid.

The way they mention OMG! english while dodging the question posed or instead of nice social response choose to put down the grammar is harsh.

You'd think I was some idiot or something when I just wanted to talk about a game series. :-(

It makes you personally look bad you think "Wow I just asked *insert simple IMO question* yet they throw English/grammar issues back at me.

And I am saying, it is their lack of intelligence that leads them to resort to that tactic.

Don't get mad. Laugh at how pathetic it is. It is not so much an attack on your intelligence as it is a magnifying glass on their lack of.

LOL! Thanks I was typing my reply post then saw your post sorry. That makes since THERE lack of intelligence to have to pick on someones grammar. We should respect each other and answer the question people pose in there opening topics. Example would be: You said something about being depressed what were you trying to say/talking about vs. OMG! grammar english would possibly make the person feel like they weren't being heard (no matter the board or topic or question being discussed/posed) But you make a valid point. Thanks! I'll retry the boards and form the questions in a better grammatical way (if at all possible.) LOL!

I tend to ramble and with my anxiety and constant emotional panic state tend to repeat and go on and on. I tend to repeat and panic in regular conversation face to face as well sadly. LOL! People online WP or whatever the board doesn't know this about me so automatically plays the "grammar issue card."

Thanks for understanding WP. :-)

I just correct people in my head for my own peace of mind. It's not worth actually correcting someone though, unless they're not native speakers and they've specifically asked to have their English critiqued.

I don't like them either. They just notice something and take the time to be an a-hole by pointing it out. Typos happen. We are drafting when we are creating online posts, so a typo or two are expected to come up. Also, it's informal writing... I find it most amusing when a grammar natzi corrects my error, then creates one on their own. That's happened to me quite a few times. They are annoying.

Plus, same boat. I've received great marks on papers. Their little hissy fit over a misspelled word does not bother me because I know my own quality and worth.

Thanks! Glad it doesn't bother you. Perhaps I'll check out gaming boards again. and as I mention earlier simplify my questions vs. rambling. Instead of gushing about my views on Zelda "How do you like SS & LBW?" a short question which IMO dumbs down things vs. gushing about the series. :-(

I can "gush" to my WP gaming friend but wish I could gush on the actual series message boards. No one is a SUPER HUGE fan of Zelda or Fire Emblem on those boards just want to criticize peoples writing or certain games in the series. :-(

I spot grammar nazi points all the time, but so what? - it'd be insecure and stupid for me to correct people's writing.

Plus, isn't there a chance that these grammar and spelling things could be neurological?

Gushy writers keep gushing is what I say.
