Not sure if this is the right sub-forum for this, but wanted to post this topic as maybe it could help others as well.

What do you all do to build confidence? As of my entire life, I haven't had any confidence whatsoever, and no ego. I've hardly had any self worth. Now, I don't want to be arrogant and overconfident as being in the presence of those personality traits is unbearable. Rather, just enough where one can feel good about themselves and have the confidence to say "yeah...I can do this!".

Any advice, tips, and tricks would be most helpful. I've been working through cognitive therapy exercises and resources for a couple weeks and it's helped a lot, but am seeking more, especially from those that are autistic/aspergians too. Should probably mention that currently I can't do strenuous physical activity due to health concerns (my heart isn't doing so well).

Sounds like you need a hobby of some sort--perhaps learning draw portraits?

The main thing that works for me is to go ahead and start doing something.
If you can do something well and complete a small project, it will build your confidence for doing the next thing.
If you can show your work to someone else, and they approve, it will build your confidence for interacting with other people.

I'm no good at drawing real people, but drawing from imagination or other artists' studies is something that can be done (used to do it quite often but for a while I just didn't have the energy). Need to get back into drawing and painting in general now that it's nice outside. Oil painting is not good for closed spaces.

Thanks for the advice. :)
