As the title says, I feel terrified about everything-everyone say online I talk to I fear is out to get me...I feel afraid to leave the house somethimes-it's annoying, I mean I don't honestly think everyone is out to get me...but it's just something I needed to let out!

I think what you need to do is set small targets. Such as I will go out the house once every day just for a 10 minute walk. And then make a harder target and then eventually you overcome what you're afraid of and prove to yourself no-one is out to get you. Although what I say is easier said than done.

I used to fear going out. I do not know why, but the only way I overcame it was just getting so fed up of my life just being wasted and ruled by fear...in a sense, you lose as much by avoiding living due to your fear as you might if someone attacked you. You are missing out on things you could be learning, doing, experiencing. Stay paranoid, sure, to a degree, but don't let it rule your life.

I don't really have a paranoia about leaving my apartment...I just don't do it unless I have to. Sometimes people try to get me to go out and do things, and around 50-75% of the time, I just stay in. Why? I'm not sure, I guess because I'm comfortable in my apartment, and for that reason prefer it over most places.

That kind of advice I think actually works better for us aspies because we are better at sticking to programs like this. I frequently set little goals for myself and stick to them.

I am like that too, but I also sometimes don't feel safe in my home because I fear someone will break in.

When I'm scared of things like that I think of this: I could never go out in case someone hurts me, never take my iPod or laptop out of the house in case they get stolen, never ride my bike in case I'm in an accident*, never cross the road in case I get run over, etc and the risk never ends. So in the end I try to say to myself "Look Teller - life is a risk, enjoy what you want to do and not let anything stop you". And so I do cycle a lot and I do take my laptop to lectures and it is all a risk, but it makes me happy to cycle and have my laptop. So that's the balance. I'm not always successful at this but I try.

*The reason I put about cyling and road accidents is that this is the leading killer of 10-24 year olds which includes me.
