Yeah. I'm sorry, too. Sounds like a really lousy situation for you.
The only advice I could offer is to try to make the best of the situation.
And don't quit--let them fire you--it's more likely you'll get unemployment benefits if you get fired than if you quit.
This might sound like a stupid question: did anybody know that you locked yourself in the bathroom?
Are there other Aspie-type people who work in your company? Have you disclosed that you have Asperger's/Autism?
If you are an otherwise exemplary employee, and you are essential for the operations of your department, you have a decent shot at keeping the job. They might force you to sign some kind of "improvement plan" or whatever. Or they might force you to see a therapist. This is especially so if it's a large company.
Thank you. I went back today and yes I still have my job and they don't plan to fire me, thank God. I don't plan to quit either, although it's tempting. I've done it before in situations like this
Yes they knew I locked myself in there but they didn't really know what to do. My boss asked the office manager every now and then if I was still in there and okay.
They know I'm autistic but I'm not sure how well they understand it. We're going to have a meeting to set a plan of action for when I feel like a meltdown is about to happen, and how to prevent them. And no there's no one else like me at all, there are just five of us in the whole company
