i think i am being abused??

My mom is really emotionally abusive and has always been emotionally neglectful. She yells about everything so i'm always on edge, and gets angry when i don't understand what she says or i don't hear her. She has treated me so badly that i have even attempted suicide several times. I tried talking to her about how i feel but it just made things worse. She has purposefully screamed right into my ear when i told her to please quite her voice because she was hurting my ears. She makes me do my homework with her and yells that i am stupid this happens every day. The thing is is that she is very over protective and i know she cared about me a lot, as she would try to buy me anything that i wanted and even spent an entire year yelling at my school because she didn't wanted me walking even though i am full capable of walking. And because of this i feel guilty for complaining about how she treats me and sometimes even think i should just put up with it. Am i being abused and should i tell someone? i'm really confused and stressed and help would be much appreciated

Your mother shouldn't yell in your ear. She should try to be quiet when you tell her your ears hurt.

And she shouldn't tell you you're stupid when you're doing your homework. She should tell you how smart you are. Especially if it's true.

She sounds like she has anger/frustration issues.

I would say, at times, she is abusing you emotionally.

She sounds abusive. How old are you? Can you not do homework after school at the school or a local public library, or start spending more time with friends until you are capable of moving out?

I think you are being abused and I also think you should tell someone that you trust.
