coping with loss
Has anyone lost anyone without having the chance to say goodbye? I could have said goodbye, but I chose not to. Now I'm filled with regret. I don't really want to tell the whole story. I just feel so bad that I could have said goodbye one last time before the person died. I had a feeling it would be my last chance. I've tried to make sense of why I didn't go, but I just don't know what I was thinking.

Yes,that's happened to me a few times. You have the rest of your life to make peace with this and to figure out "why".Don't torment yourself.Life doesn't always make sense and we don't always have control over circumstance. All the same,I'm sorry for your loss.
I lost my brother to a car accident when he was 19 and half and I was 14 and 11months, His car flipped 8 times and he was ejected from the car and later on died on life support in the hospital. I never got a chance to say good bye at all, and he was the only person I really ever loved. He was my best friend, and my guardian, and the main reason I loved him so much because out of everybody in this world that I knew he was the only one who never hit me, or made fun of me ever, so it still bothers me to this day. If he lived though after the car accident he would be severly brain damaged. I also lost my father to liver failure from being an alcoholic and cancer from being in the vietnam war and I watched him slowly fade away, I did get to say good bye to him though.
